Wallabies!

This is a Wonderful Wallaby in Red Heart varigated yarn, made for my friend Jen's daughter. The pattern is by Cottage Creations. I think I've probably made 20 of them. They're a great way to use up the TONS of cheap (for lack of a better word) yarn I bought when I was just starting to knit. I find the Red Heart varigated is softer to knit than the solid colors.

Here's another Wallaby finished, this time for Jen's son, knit in Caron Wintuk. Although it is hard to see, the dark stripes are red and navy.

Fair Isle Linda Bag

This bag is based on the Lucy Bag pattern, but I increased to 144 stitches, and added some fair isle around the center. The bottom has Tim Tex sewn to it to keep it flat. I also lined the bag with pockets for cell phone, check book, straight needles, pens, and a zipper pocket. I call it the Linda bag, because I made it for Linda for our knitting group's pollyanna exchange. It is knit with Philosopher-like yarn, and it took a long time to felt. Next time, I think I will run two strands of yarn in the solid areas, as it felted differently from the rest of the bag.
